many thanks w. arfon evans september 14, 2017 at 1:37 pm · reply i am researching on behalf of a family member from the usa who is due to visit me at the beginning of october. her grandmother, ellen hughes, was born in llandudno around 1873 to john hughes (1848 – 1901) and margaret- nee jones (1846 – 1889). the only record i have is that according to the 1881 census, they were living in bodlondeb church walks, llandudno. also, according to the gro death index, there is a reference to a john and margaret being registered under conway. i was wondering if there is any way for me to be able to check burial/church records for the various churches within the parish of llandudno? i look forward for your reply, thanking you beforehand, diolch yn fawr, arfon evans (bethesda). mavis peacock october 2, 2017 at 7:38 pm · reply hello – my name is mavis peacock (nee evans). i saw your enquiry on the st tudno’s website. i have a family grave within the cemetery of my great great grandad griffith evans, on the tour of the graveyard it is no. 13, the boat grave. my late sister pauline was very keen on researching our ancestors and i have a family tree which shows griffith having 7 children (1 of which was my great grandad robert) and also a daughter called ellen (1837-1876) who married in 1866 a john hughes, i also have a copy of her death certificate showing she died 18 july 1876 16 days after giving birth (i have no record of whether the baby was male or female). my great grandad robert married 3 times and one of his wives was margaret hughes! i realise that the names of evans and hughes are very common but it seemed to me as though my side of the family is perhaps distantly related to yours!!! some dates are slightly different from the one’s you gave but my sister often said they were occasionally altered in transcription! i live in hampshire and will be away from wednesday for a few days – if you wished i could send you a typed copy of my family tree which starts from the year 1794 and also a copy of my sister’s original draft and a copy of the death certificate of ellen. i also remember being told that one side of the family came from conway. best wishes mavis editor october 10, 2017 at 11:14 am · reply historic records for the parish of llandudno are now held by conwy archive service and you can find their contact details via conwy county council’s website: https://www.conwy.gov.uk/ . i hope this helps. jacqui davies august 26, 2017 at 9:16 pm · reply surfing the web i was very pleased to find llandudno parish. i was born in llandudno, baptized at st andrews church where i later taught sunday school. i was sad to see
